The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one service is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
